Default Bad day on the dyno

Finally got the car on the dyno. After the first pull the IAT sensor went out. Once we had that sorted out we started experiencing belt slippage issues, which I learned is typical with a ProCharger on a C5 bracket set up. We ended up installing a belt that was a 1/2" shorter once this was installed we fired up the engine only to here the impeller touching off inside of the blower.
Before the blower issue happened we were able to get 600hp with only 7psi of boost. This blower should easily put out 14psi and make between 700 to 750 HP.

600hp is pretty impressive! Im sorry to hear about the blower issue. How can the impeller be hitting the casing? Wouldn't it self destruct at that point?
I have zero exp with superchargers, just curious. I hope you get it figured out easily.
Very nice car!

Yeah blowers can be a PITA to get dialed in. Keep plugging away and you'll get things resolved.

Otherwise 600whp is pretty good #'s for 7#'s of boost. What are the motor specs again?

Not sure why it hit, lucky it was just idling when it happened, without taking it apart I can see a couple of blades missing on the impeller.

Yeah, hopefully if it is something with the blower, ProCharger will work with me on the warranty, unlike Moser did on the noisy rear-end and gear change.

I'm in a little town called Danbury about 35 miles south of Houston. Not alot of Pro Touring cars out here.

Oh yeah the motor is a 416 Dart Pro heads that flowed 330 @ 600, ought to make some power when it is lined out.

Is it an iron or alum block? How about the cam and fuel management system? And what blower head unit are you running?

Reason I ask is my buddy has an 4th gen TA with an LQ9 427 stroker with a D1 blower, ported Dart 225 heads, custom blower cam, Fast LSXR intake and BS3 fuel management he made about 660rwhp with about 8#'s of boost. he's currently swapping it from T56 to TH400 and is upgrading his fuel system. Looking to push 12-15#'s. He's been sorting this motor for quite sometime a local shop screwed him for some huge $$$

If you need any help I can get you in touch with his current shop and tuners up here.

It's a LS2 aluminum block, I would have to find the cam card to tell you what the specs are, the head unit is a F1. I built this off of my buddies C5 vette that ended up making 800hp with less intercooler than I have. Everything else was exactly the same and he did have belt slipping issues. The fuel system is a 2002 Camaro computer with 60 lb fuel injectors and dual Walboros with the 2nd one kicking in at 4 psi of boost. I think once the Pro Charger comes back I will be investing in the Cartek flip drive set up for the Corvette bracket system. This corrects the slipping issue and has been proven to be more reliable. The Corvette bracket system seemed to fit the best in a 1st gen when running a Pro Charger, along with it comes the slipping issue.

Good stuff, my buddy is running the F-body drive since its in a 4th gen. He also had belt slippage issues and installed some kit I cannot remember the name, I'll ask him and find out, I also know he rebuilt his head unit with some type of bearings again I'll have to check the details with him and get back to you. Good luck I think you'll get it sorted and the #'s where you want them.
