Default 12bolt rear end width?

I'm having my 12 bolt rear shortened to54". What are you running for back spacing on your wheels running 18- 12
It's a 69 camaro

IMO, You would be much better off buying your wheels first and then narrow the rear to fit the wheels. 54" sounds too narrow, my rear is 57". My wheels are 18x12 with 5.75"bs if I remember correctly.

Yeah definitely buy wheels first... then take care of the rear end to make a perfect fit.

Here is what my rear end looks like installed. This is a Moser with floating hubs and as previously stated it measuers 57" wheel face to wheel face.
