Default Project Orange Krate lives! - NOW AT Comp-Spec

Nick Licata's 2nd gen Camaro is a big step closer to being a car again. This is a project car for Camaro Performer's magazine (Project Orange Krate) and we bought the car from the For Sale section of PT.com.

The engine is a 427 small-block that we stole from Super Chevy. I has a Motown block and a somewhat mild cam (for street duties).

Once we get the engine sorted out and a gear vendors installed Nick will be shipping his ride to Pete at Comp-Spec for a LOT of work.

This will include just about everything in the DSE catalog including mini-tubs, subframe, quadra-link and all the cool little widgets they sell.

Also, 1980 called and wants their graphics back so the car will be re-done in fresh orange paint with flat black hockey stripes. We will detail all of this in the book, but we will also post teasers and updates here.

I know Nick can't wait to get he car done. Since he foolishly challenged me to a autocross challenge when the car is done I can't wait either. lol

How it looked when we bought it. I think the price was $7500, which was very fair. The engine was toast and was quickly dubbed "old rod knock"

The new 427 ready to go in.

Nick and Tim Lee guiding it into place. I would have helped but someone has to take the pictures!

We still need to track test ours (it will suck) and install a gear vendors. Will most likely get there as your's is leaving.
