Hello everyone. I've been monitoring this site for a while, and decided to join. I would like to introduce myself and my first project. It is a 1968 Plymouth Satellite, w/ a 318 engine, and 727 transmission. I've attached 2 photos. The "beginning" is the project as it stands now. The "goal" is a model kit that I built as a guide. I call it the Blackbird (I'm a fan of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird).
I would also like some guidance. I want to do away with the torsion bar front suspension, but the Magnumforce and Alterkation crossmembers are not in my budget. Has anyone heard of RCC Specialties? They have a Mopar coilover conversion shown on their website. Also has anyone tried a Mustang II street rod suspension on a Mopar?
ok, not to hilack.. ant is it sort of on topic anyway...
first of all, wellcome! looks like a very cool project, and i really like the look of the goal.. if you are going to change the front suspension all together, you should take a look at the member page for john libby, his build style is rather simmilar to what you look to be shooting for..
and now for the hijacking:
why not use a nascar late model front suspension? they are cheap, you can get a whole chassis less engine for small money.. and if you are goung to channel the body and redo the bottom and rear wheelwells to fot those monster wheels... well why not go full tilt while you are at it
