Default HELP!!!! The annual OLC need help we're broke down thread!

0100 H Tuesday May something... We are 20 miles north of the Florida / Georgia border. I think we just broke the drivers side axle. OK... I am pretty sure that we just broke the drivers side axle.

We are waiting on a flat deck to tow us to Daytona.

Does anybody know a Florida source that can turn an axle around in a hurry? Nothing fancy, 31 spline anything will do at this point.

Four oh three eight three seven five five five five
Or
Eight three one nine oh five eight six six eight

Thanks

James and Mary

Do you know the length? What type ends do you require? Maybe Frank or someone down there has something that will work.

James, not sure what rear end you have, most 31 spline axles are custom cut,so it would be tough if you have custom axles, but if you have stock ,try 904-482-2804 Jeff Mcgee, he deals with stock rear ends,
I tried calling couple local speed shops,so far nothing, the guys at Speedfab open up around 10am
Speedfab
1029 Blanding Blvd # 702
Orange Park, FL 32065-7754
(904) 298-0005

I wish I could be more of help, but if there is anything nine 0 four 59two six 6six6 . I am in Jacksonville

We've just called a tow truck and hope to heading to Prodigy Customs soon. At this point it sounds like it's a bearing or the diff itself - we have a diff if need be so our fingers are crossed that we can work through this today. We'll keep you posted...

I was going to post couple more local places that deal with drivetrain parts.

I'm sure Frank can take care of it.Hope it's nothing major and you'll be on your way. Enjoy beautiful Florida weather

So we tore it down, looks like it lost a axle seal, lost enough fluid to run the bearing dry and burned up the bearing badly. My good friend Patrick happpened by and made a run to Orlando for a pair of new bearings while Michael installed the new differential. We will gave it a quick nut and bolt once over, changed front rotors and pads, and send their on their way at 7PM or so, They Made new Orleans at 8AM, drove almost straight through. Tough pair I tell ya

Here is a pretty cool action shot. One Lap was in pretty good company. The new shop is not set up yet, in fact the lfts have not even been installed yet. We are still building shelves and shelving parts. paintng, running the air system, etc. Stuff is still scattered everywhere. We will have some "official" Open house shots soon as we are all set up, but I thought this was such a cool shot I should post it!

On another note, James and Mary are such nice people, it makes it easy to want to help and reminds me why we do this.

Glad to know James got the car back on the road.

On a side note, is that Eternity I see sitting next to the Red 69 Camaro with black rims
