A tape measure. They do make these little gadgets that you bolt onto your hub and spin around so you can find out sizing that way as well.

Companies like Forgeline offer a worksheet that you fill out to help find the right wheel and tire combo sizes as well.

Also searching on websites like this one help a ton. There is usually somebody that has stuffed the biggest rims and tires possible onto your same car before.

Good luck!

Yep, old tire, rim, tape measure and a straight edge. Remember the a rim is 1" wider than the advertised size. Example, an advertised 10" wheel is actually 11" wide edge to edge.

I would also add that find the rim style you like and work with that manufacture/representative on what you are trying to achieve...They have put enough rims on cars to know what works best..

Can't say enough about Jason Rushforth "Rushforth Wheels"and the technical advice in making sure I got the best look out of the space I was working with and was VERY pleased with the turn out....

I found this post on pro touring. He rents a tool to measure your offset.
