The stickers and adding A/C to a Z/28 really killed it...but on the other hand from purely a business decision, the exposure they received was probably worth it to them. They ran the car in the Gumball 3000 so from Stockholm to Vegas and then Palm Beach, they got plenty of exposure.
I figure selling that car in it's original Trans-Am theme (as when I had it) brings $45k all day long. The cheesy exhaust pipes they added really looked awful.
But last year, the buyer told me they rented a Lambo for $75k and got nothing to show for it so even at a loss, the auction route was a good decision.
