Default My 69 Chevelle

Hi everyone,
I've been a member for a few weeks, been reading a lot! I don't have many pictures yet, but it's not much to look at right now either, heh.

My project was bought on ebay and picked up from Winnipeg, Canada in 2001.
I liked it.
I drove it home, thats when I took a good look at it. I found out someone did their own (very amateur)body work on it, and from what I can tell that consisted of slapping a boat load of filler on it..
Poor Thing..
Anyways, it's a Canadian made 69 Malibu.
I started by pulling the old nasty leaky radiator, and also ended up pulling the home built(another amateur job) 4-bolt 350. Then it sat out side on a minnesota driveway for 4 1/2 years!! I know it was a horrible thing to do, but I was a broke college student who had free parking at his parents house. hehe
Now the ol' velle has been hauled down to a climate controlled storage warehouse close to my home. It's hard to miss where a fair amount of that bondo is starting to lift from the rust.. but its what I've got.
So I have been stocking up on parts for a few years, and I'm getting close!

I sent a 454 I'd had in my garage for a while to the machinist. I had it bored to .060 over, It's got a GM forged crank, forged h-beam 6.385" rods and forged dish pistons. I had ARP main studs installed, but it's only a 2-bolt main.
Heads are GM 049 casting large oval ports, ported and matched with a Weiand Team-G single plane high rise intake. They also have full roller-rockers and I am really cosidering Comp Cams BeeHive valve springs.

I just bought Comp Magnum retro-fit Hydraulic Roller lifters, and got a great deal on ebay.
I plan to supercharge it sooner or later, but I don't know what I should limit it to. I was figuring 6000 rpms and 7-9 psi boost.
How much power do you think I could get from this thing Safetly?

I have a TH400 I was planning on building then I was going to eventually buy a gearvendors, but I was kinda tossing up the idea of getting a 4l80e. Then if I still had the urge I could add another OD. HaHa sounds good

Oh! back to the rest.
I bought a 12-bolt with Art Morrison Rear arms and I have thier bolt on traction kit. I also have c-clip eliminators, but I'm not sure if I'll use them yet.

I recently made another great find on good ol' ebay. I needed to upgrade from 4 wheel power drum brakes, so I got a Global West makeover. I won their negative roll system, Tall spindles, 1-LE rotors, calipers, upper and lower a-arms(spring pockets), Del-a-lum bushings, tie-rod sleeves, tie-rod ends, 1-1/8" sway bar, front springs, rear steel braided lines, plus for a few more bucks he threw in a 14:1 power steering box with steering arm. I got everything for 2200.00 after shipping.
Needless to say I'm excited and wish these projects went quicker!!! Just a few years left right??!?

I keep telling myself it's a life long project, and it will never really be done. I just wish I could drive it already!
Pictures to come...
Thanks for reading, comments and questions welcome.
Marty

Is it white???? Do your parents live by St. Michael?

Your description sounds like the one near my sister's house that I looked at every time I was in the area.

If it's the same car, I talked to you about buying it about a year ago.

Wow Great guess Derek, glad to see you pay attention!

Yes this is the very car you speak of. My folks have since moved to blaine, and I'm down in Mankato.
You should really get a prize of some sort, hehe.

The description sounded VERY familiar

As for the prize... I'll accept cash and/or free parts.
