Default Project of a different kind! Motorcycle trike for my paralyzed buddy!

Well a little back ground info first. Local guy here in south GA had wreck on a motorcycle a few years ago and was paralyzed from waste down. he got the urge back last year to build a custom trike based off a production crotch rocket. Well with the help of a bunch of internet forums and private folks he was delivered a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX 1100. I volunteered to do all the fab and paint work. The bike was delivered to me back in october of last year. The guy has been working and designing the setup and with lots of help from others has came up with a complete rearend with Suzuki Samarui internals, some machined parts, and some plasme cut parts by me! We have spent a lot of time just getting to a point where we new which way was up. After a bunch of changes to the rearend design we finally got it all mocked up last week and started this sunday building the swingarm for it. I mandrel bent a bunch of 1.5" DOM tubing to get what you see below. The arm has lots of triangulation and strength should esily support the 150HP the bike has. Anyone notice the amount of truck parts used!! The rear pivots (SD.com 4 link pivot) will be used to adjust chain tension!! I still have a **** load of TIG welding to do, the arm is only tacked and mocked up right now!!

Here are some pics!!

Little bending!!

All mocked up!

Ready to be welded!!

We got the swingarm fully welded up now! I was planning to get some paint on the rearend and on the plastics this weekend. But I am on my way to the beach as we speak. So it'll have to wait a few days. hopefully be end of next week it'll be on the ground!
