Default No-No's with mixing suspension componants

Hello:

Are there any rules of thumb with mixing a DSE triangulated four link, with a Art Morrrison front sub-frame, or the DSE front subframe with a lateral dynamics 3-link? (Or any other combo you can think of?)

Which are compatable??

DSE's Quadra-Link is a parallel 4 bar with a panhard bar, not a triangulated 4 link.

No, there really isn't. There is not one suspension setup for the front that will not work with ANY suspension system for the rear, and any supplier that tells you that this is not true is lying, and trying to get more business out of you (I stress that point because several of our customers have been specifically told this). When it comes down to it, the suspension design ENABLES performance to whatever level it can before the specifics of the design fall apart. However, the real performance OBSERVED is primarily achieved through balancing the front and rear setups via springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars. This is where the typical supplier will usually insist on one certain setup (a one size fits all), because they have one way or another achieved what they feel is a good balance. Throw another variable into the equation, and very/most often, can't or won't solve it.

We have customers that use the Wayne Due C4 based front. The WD C5 based front. Full bore ATS Chicane LM. DSE equipped stock front frame. Global West equipped front. Speetech equipped. 21st Century full front frame. And very soon, our own version of front suspension. None of the DSE new front full frame, nor the new AME front frames because they are only now being built, but I'm sure it won't be long before we'll have this combination too.

If people don't want to go the weld-in rear clip route, we recommend Lateral Dynamics or Detroit Speed. Good companies, good parts and good people! So if we can't help somebody build a car, we definitely want to recommend them to somebody that can.

Completely agree with Mark's comments, and have heard some amazing statements from people out in the field as well.
