Default Noob here with a 77 T/A

Hi, new guy here. I have a 1977 Y81 Special Edition Trans Am (Y81 = non-T-top Bandit car) with a W72-400 ("T/A-6.6") and TH350 auto trans. It is currently under restoration/restification and aiming for a of sort of a "semi-pro" touring outcome.

Looking forward to hanging out and learning a lot from you g-machiners!

Cool project. I have had Trans Am fever something bad. I just picked up a W72 400 / auto T Top Bandit with intentions of Pro Touring, but since I plan on taking the plasma cutter to it, I think I am going to sell it to a purist and find anohter non Bandit car to start with. These fricken things are getting strong!

Okay, well, here's some "before" pics of it (along with a a copy of the factory-to-dealer invoice showing its Y81 pedigree) and one of it leaving on the transport for Transformation Restorations (www.transformationrestorations.com).

I would love to put a set of Procar Rally seats (like in Jason Wyrick's 73 Z28)... but that may have to wait for a future upgrade as the resto does have a budget that is already stretched to the limit.

Don't have any in progress pics as of yet... but I will post some eventually.

Frank & Jonny51... do you guys have any pics of your SE T/As?

Thanks! It only has 73k miles, but was neglected for many a year I think before I bought it about 3 years ago. When I got it, it ran fine (even passed the strict Phoenix emissions standards), but the carb crapped out and it got to the point where it would flood everytime I tried to start it. So it ended up being a garage ornament for about the last 2 years while it awaited its resto.

Looking forward to your pics
