Default Vendor to avoid

Hello everyone, I am not new but its been a while. I recently had a really bad customer service experience. I attempted to purchase a partial set of NOS wheelwell moldings from the following company: Camaro Secialties, 112 Elm St. E. Aurora NY 14052. 716-652-7086. This is what happened from my side. I called and spoke with someone and inquired about the wheelwell moldings mentioned above. I was told that both front moldings are available and that 1 rear molding was available, the right rear. The left rear was not available. I agreed to purchase the parts in question for 200.00 plus shipping. I provided my C.C. info and address. I agreed to the price and to purchase these parts as stated. 1 week goes by and I call to confirm my order, I was told the following: We arent sending all the parts that you ordered because you didnt pay enough for them and you didnt tell us that the rear moldings were so hard to find, besides, I can use them so, I'm not selling them to you. I asked for my order to be filled as agreed and was denied. I told them I would tell some people about this via the internet and their response was as follows. Go ahead, our reputation is secure and you can do nothing to us, go ahead and waste your time. It wont matter. This level of customer service is plainly unacceptable. I recommend finding a supplier other than Camaro Specialties in New York to do business with. A thread about this is going on over at Pro-Touring.com right now. I was told that this would be a good place to post this inf also.

Yeah, I read your post on pro-touring.com too... can't believe the audacity of some people. hope they have enough "satisfied" clients to keep them going... well, not really actually!

Default You may have luck at a GM dealer

I do not where you live but, I just purchased the two fronts and the one rear that is available at my local GM dealer. (Nucar Chevrolet (302)322-2438 ask for wholesale parts then ask for Tim) I think the two fronts were about 70.00 each and the one rear was a little over 50.00 If you have trouble with your local dealer this dealer is known in my area for getting parts that are still available. Your experience does not sound too suprising to me because I had talked the them about a part for 69 Z28, I was trying to find the correct date and they told me they would gladly restamp any part. I just think that is kind of fraudulent. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Wha??? I've had nothing but good luck with just about everybody. Sure, sometimes mistakes are made (lost packages, etc), but that's normal.

The above sure doesn't sound like a mistake, though. He may not be in business for too long...

We did check out the parts before he sold them to us. The die stamp numbers. My recent purchase from him was through the mail and it was only a month ago. It was 1967 NOS Cowl Vent grill panel. It came in triple box wrapped box, no scratch on it. No other vendor that I called could supply this item. I tried several, and he came through again. The only thing you don't mention is who you spoke with on the phone. I never bad mouth a company online, because sorry I think that is poor taste. Now, if I have a problem with a company. Then I won't recommend them to other person of this forum. You can find NOS wheel molding chome from E-bay. I seen complete sets of wheel molding chrome listed in the past.

I also bought some stuff from them for my Dynacorn bodied car. It was stuff that is not yet reproduced, and generally hard to find. They got it go me quick, and charged a fair price. I am sorry to hear about the bad experience.

I'm glad to hear that some of us did have good experiences with Camaro Specialties. I hope mine was an isolated incident.
