Then it was time to get the heads torqued down.
ARP says to put their assembly lube on the threads, both sides of the washers, and the bottom side of each nut.
Once that's done, it's time to start the torque sequence. ARP calls for 80 pds on the large studs and 25 on small ones, done in a series of 3 steps. I started the large studs at 28, then moved to 56, then finally to 80. The smaller, I started at 8, then 16, then finally 25.
Using the following torque sequence obtained from Lingenfelter, I began the process.
