Default Attn: Painters. Hockey Stripe Question

I'm not a body man or painter. I have a completed chevelle. Thinking about putting a "reverse" hockey stripe on it. I think I know the answer, but wondered if their are any tricks.
If I add a hockey stripe to my already completed paint job, do I have to re-clear the whole car? Or is there a trick so I can simply have a stripe painted on?

I was hoping you'd reply. I've watched your project and its beautiful. I looked at it today. I'd have to go up over the roof and down the other rear fender to do it right. I'm mulling it over. Maybe a project later in the winter.

You could mask and shoot in single stage but would leave an edge. If you don't want an edge you will have to re-clear the panels.

Thanks for the input everyone. I knew those were the answers, but just thought I'd check. I will sit on it and think about it. Dont know if I want to tackle that yet. I have plenty of other projects to tackle for now.
