Employment opportunity at Ironworks Speed & Kustom
Well believe it or not I guess we are very blessed to be in this position of looking to hire. I currently have a very solid crew, but with our product line slowly coming closer and closer to reality. I could really use somebody who is a self starter and can think for themselves. Experience in this industry is a must. More then likely this person will come from another shop somewhere.
With all that this site has done for my business over the years I figured some body on here might know somebody or be that guy.
I kinda let me guys choose their disciple, Sheetmetal or Chassis fab or Wiring, Mechanical work. Whatever they are most passionate about I try to run with that. If your passionate about something, you will do your best work. I can use any of the 3. Another talented sheetmetal guy or Chassisfab guy would be great. I need a guy with talent that I can work with over experience. With major experience comes bad habits in my experience.
I'm not sure that answered your question, In my industry you take what you can get and see if you can work with it. The majority of my employees have come from out of town.
Man, I tell you somedays with the headaches around here this would be the way to go! I just don't think I would want to move... I hope you find someone as I can't wait to see what would be included in this "product line"!
I know Rodger has been looking to hire somebody on. I think whoever ends up on the payroll will be definitely pleased with the work atmosphere there. This IMO is the next step he needs to take to put his company where he wants it. Ironworks has definitely set a presence throughout the industry. Good luck Rodger towards your goal of one of the top major players out there.
? I would look forward to seeing more talent working on my project.
We are still looking for qualified individuals that can perform top Notch Quality work. We are able to attract the customer with the funds to be able to spend the time to do the level of quality most people what to do. I'm not looking to train anyone currently. I really need a quality fabricator and a solid mechanical guy with modern engine EFI experience.
I use to love going to work in my field as a automotive mechanic, now I hate it with a DWE ( use you brain to figure it out) advisor and bosses that are blind to all. I just wish employers would just open up and see the hard work that guys like me do. I work most my days off and stay late and still can't afford to work on my Chevelle! Ever thought of training a younger guy in shop to take on bigger task there? I wish I had fab skills like some guy's on this site.

Jody would be your man, he is unbelievable. Have Greg's Citation pilot fly him there and home every day and I (as his agent) will get a contract faxed to you.
