Default 79 Camaro 10 bolt 8.5 rear factory 3.73 posi - Delaware

Its a 79 Camaro 3.73 rear that was bolted in my 73 trans am, and the previous owner believes he changed u-joints to fit the early 2nd gen bird, and I believe that later 2nd gen bird and camaro GM got smart and made identical. Overall, if you are interested make sure you do your research to see what if anything needs to be changed.

This rear has NO problems, and made no odd noises. ONLY reason I am selling it is I have another rear with 3.08 gears and disc brake conversion going in. My turbo car will prefer the taller gears. No sense pulling apart this good rear to do it.

The rear is still installed in the car at the moment, but I'll be pulling it any time now. It includes the drum brake setup which needs a new right side brake cylinder. Its just not pushing as hard as the other side. Otherwise pads and drums are all good. Posi works fine. Also pretty clean and painted black, but not showcar ready. Its a bolt in deal.

$400 in Laurel, DE 19956

oh.......did I mention the 77mm Garrett turbo and methanol injection?

886 hp at the rear wheels, 1064 at the flywheel (calculated)@5500 rpm, before the methanol injection was added. Thank you Mark L...

Yes, thats the guy who has been in contact with me. He's about 3 hrs away, and understandably would like to be able to inspect the rear. I'd meet him, but not just so he can inspect it.
