Default 1970 Mustang Fastback

Just thought I would post some pics of the 70 fastback were just finishing up.
I began working on the car last june and we started with rebuilding the engine which is a 351 Cleveland 4V motor which has a comp 292 hyd roller cam and valvetrain. forged slugs and rebuilt 4V heads with stainless steel valves. then the owner decided he wanted to put in a gear vendors overdrive to make cruising more fun.
here is the car as I began working on it last summer

not sure ? this car is originally a 302 sports roof car although it was cloned as a mach1 when my customer purchased it. Complete with a shaker hood.

I had a 70 Grabber Sportsroof that had reverse C stripes just like a 69 Boss 302 (without the words) and look similar to what you have painted, so there was a 70 Mustang with similar striping available from the factory. FWIW

Here is one - mine didn't have a vinyl roof, have to say I am glad it didn't Mine had a blacked out rear tail panel just like the Bosses but had standard chrome taillight bezels, not blacked out like a Boss.

actually, just saw this, the first image is exactly what mine looked like when I bought it right down to the hubcaps and is directly out of the Mustang Recognition guide IIRC

Tim thanks for the info had no idea it was a factory option. Just saw one on another build thread and the owner liked so we did our take on it.

Couple more pics. almost finished with the car had to finish wiring in the flaming river tilt column and a few other wires for the vacuum pump for the booster as the engine only makes 12 in vacuum. just have to install the new 1" bore wilwood master to up the line pressure as we only had 800 psi with the 1-1/8" bore master, bleed the brakes and give it a final polish and its back to the owner.
