Default Stock 69 camaro needs wheels

A buddy of mine has a stock 69 camaro SS and wants to put some new wheels on it.Its all stock with factory discs up front and drums out back.Anyone know the perfect sizes as in back spacing and offsets for a set of 18" or 17" wheels?? Wants the widest he can go but no modifications on front and rear.
Thanks in advance
Steve

8s up front with 4.75 to 5 BS, 9.5 on rear with 5.5 BS. 245 and 275s, keep the overall heigh of the fronts 26" or under, rear can go up to 27.5"

Yup, the offsets that Frank listed are pretty much spot on. If you don't see wheels available in 9.5, run a 9" with a 5.25" Back Space, and the same 275/40/18

Just an observation, installing 17" or 18" wheels over stock disk/drums will make the brakes look just plain wimpy.
