Hey, thanks everyone!
I went from "opened a can of worms" to "started a family" to "have to work my a** off to support that family" all during that truck build. It's also were I discovered that not everyone (in the industry) conducts themselves with integrity & honesty (from quality issues, time lines to charging more than was discussed). I don't mean to sound bitter, but seeing some of the professionals building cars on this forum proves there are still guys out there that do the right thing. They do stuff for their customers & the industry that takes it to another level and inspires the next guy!
Anyways, back to the current project. Long story short this is not even my car, I'm just holding onto it until my oldest (16yr old) gets it. She has gone to car shows since she was in diapers and her favorite car has always been a silver 69 RS Camaro & now one is in our garage!
I found the car on ebay & watched it for awhile. It was about 90% of what I wanted in a 69 so I made him an offer. It has a 383 with a 4sp trans, mostly original interior, detailed engine, mini tubbed, ART shockwaves up front & leafs in back. I plan on keeping the original interior (going back to stock console), keeping the exterior the same and changing the suspension, brakes, wheels and maybe the drivetrain.
I think the biggest decision on this car will be the wheels! I haven't decided whether I want to do a polished, brushed, powder coated center & if I want to go with a standard chrome lip, brushed or two-toned. I like the all black (matte center/black chrome outer with polished hardware), the setup Ironworks has on their 55 & 68 Camaro (titanium center/matte black outer) and Jon @Driverz has one in the showroom (gun metal center/brushed lip). What do you guys think?
And maybe we can get Jon to post some updates on the car since I haven't seen it for over a month now
