Default power steering adapter interference?

I seem to be running into a space issue with my PS pump.

I can get the Earl's adapter in place, but can't get a wrench in there to tighten it down.

I also cannot get an AN fitting over the adapter, it gets in the way of the pulley.

LS1Nova suggested I take off the pulley and see if that allows for clearance.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Btw, LS3 GM PS pump, Camaro front drive kit.

Have a pic if need be.

Thanks!

~Eric

I had the same problem using Corvette accessories. I ended up using a C5 power steering hose. I have seen others use just one end of that hoses to make a custom hose.

The hose only cost roughly $12 at Rock Auto if I recall correctly.

Hmmm.... Must have used a AN fitting for the other side then?

I have a -6AN inlet for the rack and pinion.

In my case it fit directly with my DSE 600 steering box. For AN you would need to make a custom hose.

I also remember Cris at JCG machined a custom adaptor.

Here's a photo for people to see what I'm talking about.

Sorry for the large image.

Here is the C5 hose. Note how long it is so that it clears the pulley.
