Default Stewart Takes the Championship

Wow, what an exciting race!! Both ended up in a tie breaker for points with Tony finishing the race in first and Carl Edwards in second but the championship went to Tony beacuse he had the most wins.

Glad Smoke got it. He is one of the only true racers left!

Yup, Stewart is one of my favorites and he did some amazing driving today. With all the diversity and set backs he found his way back to the front every time.
This race will be remembered as one of the best championship finishes in history.

They were talking about that yesterday after the race on Speed Report but didn't give any reason's why. Seems odd considering they just won the championship.

Damn right. I still have my Tony Stewart 1995 USAC Triple Crown t-shirt. He was - and still is - an incredible race car driver. Maybe someday I can get Tony to autograph it.

Anyone who follows USAC and open wheen racing knows how significant the triple crown was then.

I also have a Jeff Gordon Diet Pepsi USAC Midget T-shirt stored away somewhere too. That makes me feel really old.

Those T-shirts should be framed and put on a wall somewhere. That is awesome memmorabilia to have.

I was watching the World of Outlaws championship sprint car races and they said that Stewarts first sprint car championship was at the age of 21. They were comparing him to the most recent champion who is only 18.

I've been to one sprint car race and it was a couple years ago. 1/4 mile oval with 800 hp cars that wat 1200 lbs. Say up front and had to wear my sunglasses at night they were slinging so much dirt. Those guys are mental !!

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.
