Question Anyone coming out to Pike's Peak?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone is planning on attending the OPTIMA event at Pike's Peak International Raceway Aug 8 and 9? I will be there, albeit w/o my car ... both days, have a hotel in Colo Springs for Sat night.

If anyone needs something while they are here .... send a PM and I'll forward my contact number.

I hope some big dawgs show up to race

See you soon....

Michael

Cool

I posted this on my build thread, but here's a rundown of PPIR OPTIMA event.

Just got back from OPTIMA PPIR man what an event!!! I was not disappointed ... OLOA Camaro, couple c'velles, Dusold team, Jake Rozelle and family, and the Showtime team. Mr. Efrain Diaz was gracious enough to let me ride in his 69 during the road rally .... thank you Efrain, that made my whole weekend! Tom and Aaron brought the Chevelles down to beat on, Mr. Farrington can drive, wow! The last two sessions were canceled due to lighting strikes too close to the track!!!

So lots of sun, the smell of 100 octane and burning rubber ... what's not to like? Got to sit in the OLOA Camaro and see most of the cars I only see in magazines up close and personal. I got to talk with car guys, very nice car guys and I took some pics .... nothing fancy, just memories for me!

Anyway, here's some pictures, I'll post the rest on my Imageshack album!

to all the guys for talking to me, made some memories and some friends ... Thanks for the ride Efrain!

See you next year! for the memories!!!

Nice to talk to you Michael. What an awesome track! Other than the 25hr trip each way, Tom and I had a blast.

Now...get to work on your car!!

It was very nice meeting you and Tom, putting face to the car is awesome! I'm glad you guys made it back safe and sound, did you order tires on the way home?

I'm working on the car this am ... just tore apart that Saturn Vue steering column to see what I need to mate it to the Camaro steering column ... just came in for lunch! lol

Thanks for the great weekend! Here's one for youse guys!

Ha, I did order tires Sunday during my off shift of driving home..they were at my work Tuesday morning!
I went with the Bridgestone RE71s in a 265/275 combo. We'll see...

Cool picture, thanks!
