I was able to make some progress on my fastback recently. I'm still doing some exploratory surgery, but so far so good. So far, the only major rust is under what used to be the battery tray. Most of the problem spots for mustangs are in great shape:
The cowl side panels look great, I'm still gonna cut the top panel off just to check down inside:
I still have to disassemble the doors, remove the wiring harness, fuel/brake lines, and a few misc. parts then she'll be ready for media blasting.

You may be right to worry, there isn't many ford or mopar guys on this site. You would have gotten more replies if you would've titled your post "Check out my 69 Camaro project"...just kidding. Im a Mopar guy, but i like seeing all kinds of other car makes and models. Im in the process of taking my car apart and have recently taken out my front and rear suspension on my 64 dart GT convertible. Looks like you've been as bizzy as i have. Your car looks pretty solid, what are you gonna do with it?

There are a few but we are definitely out numbered thats for sure. Although I am a Ford kinda guy I can really appreciate any bad ass car. Here is my Mustang...

Kevin, I saw your car in PHR. I have a folder on my computer with all my project info and pictures. I have to admit that I have all of the interior photos of your coupe as the inspiration for my fastback I love it; black, clean, and functional. Don't worry, I'm gonna change it up a bit! Although, I always tend to slide out of the stock seats in my coupe, so I'm gonna get some aftermarket seats covered to replicate the original upholstery for my fastback.
