Default What's Up with Barrett Jackson Announcers

I have been watching a bit of the Barrett Jackson from Las Vegas on Speed. Every time a Pro-Touring car goes across the block the announcers almost seem shocked when they fetch more money than a restored car. They also have no clue what is going on with this genre. One of them called a blue 67 Camaro definitely Pro Street. This is not a passing fad. These guys should do their homework and get a clue. Am I the only one thinking this? Ok, Rant over.

Thumbs up

HA HA!! I picked up on that too. It's funny because living out here in MA, there are very few who know what "pro-touring" actually is as well.

The pro touring cars are way down.

Not sure if there's to many custom/protouring cars here, economy or what. There are about 120 more cars this year then last, so maybe there aren't enough bidders to go around.

Mecum seems to do better than Barrett Jackson lately.

Mark you build very nice cars! I'm suprised they didn't show it on TV....great stance and use of finishes! So with a little money in hand...what's next? It's been fun watching you go from the camaro to the nova and now the chevelle!

i just listened to Jackson being interviewed...he said both the auction and the consigner sit down and both give ballpark numbers of what both think it will sell for...then the seller has to agree that B-Js estimated hammer price would be acceptable....then when it comes across the block the auctioneer sees both prices of seller and estimated B-J prices on his computer..is that true? and if it is ...how much off where they from what Jackson thought it would hammer for...and not how much off what you thought it would go for?

At least with Mecum I can no sale it if I am not happy with the sale price without paying both buy and sell fees.
