I like the paint choice but I wonder how important it will be for them to have the car stand out at SEMA? Maybe that should be taken into consideration? I don't know. I think the car would look good in white though.

Satin white should look good. One option that I saw last weekend that really surprised me was a satin clear wrap over a gloss color. Easier to spray and (in theory) maintain since you don't have to repaint panels if something gets scratched or polished.

I agree, it is a nice color! The biggest challenge is getting the paint code.

Rick, that is the biggest concern that would be reason for hesitating going with it.

Standing out at SEMA is a consideration. Blood red was considered but living with the car after SEMA is the biggest consideration and white just fits these car well.

We looked at some satin whites wraps and they look really nice. The down side is because of the body mods, the car needs to be painted before wrapping as the primer would show through. So painting to wrap didn't make sense.

Because of the maintenance issue with satin, we are leaning more towards a pearl white. I gues the biggest reason for the pearl is just to be different. If your going to spend thousands of dollars to repaint the car, you might change it at least a little so folks know it's not a factory job. I personally love the factory white. Specially if done right like RS's Innovator.

Well here are a few pics of the SEMA crash. Boys work till two this morning and will be up at 6 AM.

You have to scroll back -- to see the post with the bag of $6.99 files. I wasn't able to quote the picture here (<me> Dumbest poster in the Universe!).

I was using some files yesterday --- and got to thinking to myself about what an underrated tool they are! I (and this will be a big statement) don't think 90% of the people picking one up, know how to use them properly.

I was taught by a guy that did pick and file work - and lead work - at my first job at Gateway Body and Fender... when I was 13.

I vote Pearl white and wonder if it can't be really really WHITE -- rather than a bone white Pearl??

Too bad there won't (???) be a way to tell the story of the boys doing this car at SEMA --- because to me --- that's the koolest part of the car.

Sure makes it fun when your kids get into the hobby! Mine has moved to Redondo Beach and has started a business making carbon fiber diffusers and body kits for high end cars. They'll have two cars at SEMA this year showing off their work. So far they have a couple BMW's -- and LEXUS gave them a IS to do for SEMA... the rest is "in the work$"

I couldn't agree more. Basically you have three brother who have never done anything like this before go at it!
