So the epoxy came in on Thursday - and I got the last anchor epoxied into the ground that night. I let it cure for 24 hrs and torqued it down - it held with no issue.

So I bolted down the other post - and tested out the lift a few times and then lifted this:

Now that the lift is in - I will get started on the SS brake upgrade this weekend!

Thanks Marty - its been a long ass year since we signed the papers for the new house - sold my house in January and closed on the new house at the end of July.

Painting and getting everything setup in the shop took forever. I still have a few projects in the garage that I want to get done - but I have car projects stacking up. Once I get this brake upgrade completed - I will turn my focus back to the Vette - tear into the motor - and then bolt on the E-Force!

So I have started breaking in the lift - I started on my first car project today!

I got the SS up in the air and got the CTS-V 6 piston brembos bolted on - along with Stainless lines.

Unlike the G8 - these where a complete bolt on and I didn't have to mod the car in anyway. I think Holden designed the SS for big brakes - I didn't have to trim the dust shield at all - unlike how I did on the G8.

I have finished up the front end - I am waiting for 2 bolts on the back end but I should be able to get one of the sides complete.

Good to see this coming together. Been following your exploits on both GJ and
Lateral-g. Nice cars. I had to go to the dealership last month to drop off a new truck from work for some warranty stuff and while I was waiting to get another that was finished, I had a chance to check out a red SS in the showroom. The window sticker had an augment that asked for "Best offer over sticker!" Sticker was $48K. Z28 outside didn't have a window sticker and the salesman I talked to said they wouldn't entertain any offers under $100K. I guess they planned on keeping the cars for themselves( Freeway Chevrolet in Tempe AZ).

Rick - wow - shop elsewhere! They only made 3k cars for 14, and 15 each - but they are available if you look for them.

Jay - that project will get started soon. I will probably wait until after I get back from SEMA though - just got too much crap coming up.

So after waiting for the bolts - I made some good progress on the rear.

I mocked up the rear caliper - and it hit the dust shield - so I trimmed it and got the clearance that I needed. I then put the 15 SS rear rotor up and hit the damn dust shield - FAIL! The rear dust shield wraps around the stock rear rotor and the lip prevented the rotor from sitting all the way on the hub. So after stocking up on new 3" cut off wheels - I cut off the lip, painted the dust shield, and continued on with the swap.

I finished up the passenger side - and got the drivers side tore apart. I could have finished it up tonight but I don't want to piss off the neighbors with late night cutting/grinding.

So during my lunch break - I got the V wheels mounted, the car off the lift, and installed my black lug nuts.

I torqued everything to spec - and then went out and did the initial pad bedding.

Here are some pics of when I got home:

That looks awesome! Do you have a part number for those lug nuts?

This might be a strange question but do you hear any clicking from the front wheel/tires/hubs when you're driving slow and turning hard (parking lot maneuvers)?
