Do you really think so? Nice model, but to a two year old it's just another shiny toy to slam into furniture around the house.

Lets just hope that it isn't a sign of things to come when he is old enough to drive. When he gets older I would remember that car and hide the keys.

I imagine this in the future for you... son is 16, its prom time...

Son - "hey dad can i have the keys to the camaro for prom?"

Dad - *Thinks back to this incident*

Son - "dad?"

Dad - *curles into the fetal position sucking his thumb"

Son - "i guess that's a 'no' huh?"

Here is the background on this little Camaro.

My friend bought it for me when my son was not yet two. I had it in the closet waiting to give it to him when he reached an older age. We went to a car cruise one night and a vendor had some like it (not the exact same thing) on a table. He saw them and started saying "Dadda's Car", then proceeded to pitch a holy fit when I didn't let him play with them. I am talking knock down, drag out, scream fest!

When we got home that night and were getting ready for bed I slipped into the closet and pullled it out. I wanted him to see it and play with it for a bit before going to bed. It was love at first sight! He took the car and said "Tank You"...then started making car noises and rolling it around.

About 10 minutes later we started to put him in bed. I figured I would snag the toy and put it away. No dice. When we said "Time for bed"...he grabbed it, took it to bed with him, and snuggled with it like a rag doll.

Since then, it has been burried in the yard, in the bath, covered in pizza, lost & found, and lost, and found...left in the back of the car...truck...you name it.

He first managed to break the windshield, then he got the seats out, door panels, bumpers...deck lid, mirrors, and other small items.

THANKS for the link to the toy company, as my wife was able to order a fresh one we can share with him later.

When he goes out in the garage and sees the real car, he says "Daddy Camaro"...and calls his "Baby Camaro."
