Default XV Open Track Event - Just For Musclecars

Well, here is the official announcement...

We've put together a real open track / driving school event exclusively for classic musclecars!!

We've rented a 1.5 mile road course and 3,300 front straight. Track was selected to be optimal for these types of cars, so you'll be able to use your Horsepower, Suspension and brakes.

This is being held on a real deal road race course - not an auto-cross.

Professional instructors will be on hand to help out whether it is your first time on a road race course, or you are a track veteran looking to sharpen your skills. Look at the flyer and you'll see this is a full driving school type event with instructors available every step of the way.

We're super excited about this and it has been many months in the making. All you need to do is sign up and come out and play - we've done all the hard work! All makes and models welcome.

For those of you who have been wondering, here's your chance to see what our cars really do, up close and personal! Maybe even get a ride in one on track....

Anyway the flyer below has all the details. We're limiting the number of entries so everyone gets plenty of track time. We're also allowing a limited number of spectators to attend. ALL must register in advance.

Whether you bring your car to play or just want to watch there should be some pretty serious hardware in attendance. Can't speak for anyone else, but we'll be ready to wring out some of our cars.

Hope you're able to come out and play with us.

Here's the details:

Great to hear you'll be making it Bill!

I figured you be up for this.

I'm really surprised no one else here has chimed in on this thread. I figured the guys here would be all over this as it's a real deal road race course, with full instruction and reserved just for muscle cars.

Isn't this what G-Machines are all about?

Wish mine was ready - and that I was closer to Pocono! Sounds like a damn cool event, John.

For those who are on the fence, Pocono is in Long Pond, PA which is only about 500 miles or 8 hours from Detroit, MI and Columbus OH. Or 600 miles from Charlotte, NC. It's starting to look like there will be some amazing cars on hand. It's a great opportunity to stretch your car's legs and --more importantly--improve your driving skills.

Even if you just want to spectate, plan on having a big time. We don't want to hog up all the slots. But if there is space available, we are thinking of bringing the Charlie Libby Fairlane as well as the Red Car (69 Camaro) which is already entered. Both cars make some amazing sounds. Should be a helluva show. Spectator Fee is only $20.

315 BFG KD's all the way around. It's a bear to drive at slow speeds. But the faster you go, the better it handles (and stops) How'z yer widebody coming along. Get it running for October. Indy's not that far from Pocono.

Been very slow do to work stuff - but I plan to get back on it this week. Got our new fleet of DC10's FAA approved and in service - so it's time for some vacation and I plan to spend it all in the garage doing my chassis. I have a lot of work to do to catch back up for the past 4 months. I would LOVE to bring it out to a track once it's finished. Maybe October 08....

If we start bringing in late model mustangs this will be no different than any other open track event. We don't plan to open it up to any and all cars. We could easily fill the entire field w/ track prepped late models. A couple of cars for comparison might be interesting, but that's not what this was set up to be.

We don't have a hard definition of a classic muscle car for this, but an 06 isn't in the gray area.
