Default 1st Gen. Camaro Subframe modifacations?

I have a couple of stock 1969 camaro front subframes on the shelf here and since the coupes and the verts are the same, and im undecided of which body style to use, ( I will post that question with pics of the 2 canidates this weekend) But im going to start sand blasting and building the front subframe this weekend.
This is going to be a BBC set-up not sure about tranmission yet.
I will be installing DSE upper and lower a-arms with the aluminum coil overs, the steering box will stay in the stock location.
Are there any other modifacations that should be done to the front subframe? Like welding the seam on the frame from front to rear or someway to lighten/reinforce the frame without affecting its structurel support and strength?
