Default 86 Monte Carlo SS G-Machine

Hey everyone, I just realized I have been a member here for 3 yrs and have never even posted anything. So here it goes

I have an 86 Monte Carlo SS that I am building as a Pro-touring/G-machine. I have had the car since '99, and started the major work in '04. I am doing everything myself, including frame, body, paint, interior, and drivetrain. I am a bodyman by trade, and I have also worked as an auto upholsterer for 8yrs. I graduated from Wyo Tech in '01, with training in collision/refinishing, trim/upholstery, body fab, and chassis fab/hi perf. engines.

As I said the car is an 86 Monte SS. I started off buy doing a minitub to the rear, and eliminating the spare tire well. After this I made a homemade flat surface out of 4x4's, shims and plywood, with the help of a laser level (I know this isn't the best method, but I'm sure there has been worse). With that built I setup the frame and cut everthing out from the fire wall to the rear horns. It is now all 2x4x.125" rect. tubing, w/ truck arm rear suspension, and custom built full floating 9". Everthing is custom made with the exception of the truck arms, and cross member. I am planning on SCandC's Street Comp AFX setup for the front suspension. As far as the body, it will only have a cowl hood and House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red paint. I have a Viper T-56 6 speed for a tranny, and I am planning on an LSx engine with twin turbos (hopefully).

Any and all comments are welcome/wanted. Here are some pics of the work I have currently completed. I say currently, but truth be known I haven't worked on it in almost 2yrs I am waiting to rebuild my shed, so I have a place to work on it.

Thanks for looking,
Joe
