Default Full repaint......cost too high??

My Camaro is in need of a new paint job. Last spray was 20 years ago and it's got some checking issues and it really wasn't great when it was done. I want to change back to the original Garnet red with black hockey sticks. I got a quote from a reputable local shop who has done many older cars. The plan for the project is....

1. I am going to pull the interior, all exterior trim, bumpers, emblems, etc and deliver to the body shop.

2. They will send the car to media blasting while leaving the panels on the car. Mainly because the engine compartment and undercarriage are already restored.

3. Once the car comes back they will remove all panels, finish paint removal on the remainder of the car and get the car sealed.

4. Car would go back together to get panel alignments set, gaps run and all bodywork completed.

5. Car would come apart again for final prep, finishing, and paint. Stripe application, wet sanding and clear.

6. Panels would be re-assembled, paint would be polished out on the car and then delivered to me for final assembly.

Estimate came in at $11,700. I am allowing an extra couple grand for things that may pop up. Since I have a driver quarter that I have a feeling contains some repair where the inner wheel house meets the outer quarter.

Shop has won several awards locally when their cars have run in shows so I know they do good work. Opinions?
