Sounds about right for a nice quality job from a reputable shop IMHO

yep...I'm surprised they can get that close- without knowing what's underneath- everything changes after blasting- you are smart to have the extra $$ "just in case"

I have seen the car with no interior and the front clip panels off the car and all the insides of the panels look factory original with factory overspray, primer, etc. Insides of the truck panels, frame rails, rear lower pans, everything are good from the inside with original spackle paint. Rear wheel well fender lips are original and solid. I know there is some filler on the driver rear lip above the quarter joint but I couldnt find anything else with a magnet in the usual spots. I am sure stuff will pop up, but from early inspection but the car seems very solid.

That is on the cheap end. I would expect it to run several thousand more plus any metal repair on top of that.

I would be a little nervous having my car media blasted with the complete drive train and brakes still installed. What ever they use for the media blasting gets every where. Is it going to be soda blasted? Maybe I need to be schooled in the new methods.

Seems like a normal quote to me...
I'm currently in Germany where prices are a bit higher. I've had doors, fenders, trunk lid, and misc parts acid stripped then dipped in edp for 1200 Euros ($1600). The paint work including prep work cost me 3500 Euro (4200$). Here's the result so far...
