Default Stock subframe modding

Hey guys quick question:

Have any of yall cut out the outboard spring pockets after installing a c/o kit?

I ask because I have the DSE coilover kit welded in, and I don't like how difficult it is to adjust if needed.

So, what I want to do, is cut the pocket out, and reinforce the frame under the control arm mount-- essentially behind the coilover. I'd also reinforce the frame in front and behind the pocket where the frame would need to taper down near the upper coilover mount. This would expose the entire coilover and hopefully not sacrifice and rigidity.

Just looking at aftermarket frames, it looks like this is what most companies did.

I know I'd be easier to buy aftermarket, but I think it'll be kinda neat and save some cash too.

Thoughts??
