Default Changing door panel color

I looking for some advice. I have original white deluxe door panels in my 69 Camaro that are in great shape. I am changing the interior from white to black. Everything I have read about the repop door panels has been negative... so I am at the point of thinking I need to either paint or dye them. Anyone had success doing this?

If so I was looking at OER Interior Paint Black Laquer. It says it is to be used for door panels, vinyl soft trim pieces, headliners, kicks, etc. They also have the Vinyl Prep cleaning solution.

Any recommendations? In my search for information I have read about attempts to paint dash pads that had armoral residue that failed. I have to believe these have seen their fair share of armoral. Guidance on prep would be great too. I dont want to ruin a perfectly good set of door panels and have to buy a poor fitting set or repops so I am hopefull I can get some guidance on how to successfully change the color.

I saw the episode of Muscle Car on Spike where they painted/dyed the seats and door panels. Looked good on TV but we all know how that goes.

Thanks ~ Jeff
