I hope to see something at SEMA, but I doubt it. The computer programming pis the problem with adapting the 6L80E to hot rods. Your hot rod is different than my hot rod is different than Craig's. As I understand it, each individual application will require its own complex calibration. Assuming you could get the code from GM, someone with deep pockets could calibrate the trans on a chassis dyno and in real world applications. When it's all said and done, the process would start from scratch for the next car.

So you'll probably see a custom built 6L80E equipped hot rod relatively soon, but it could be a long time before you can adapt the technology to your own ride.
