It's more work, but an alternative is to weld 3/16 ss brake line into the corner of the flange, then cut off the excess portion of the flange, leaving the nice rounded tube in place for a pleasing and strong fender/quarter.

good idea john, thats just what i do, but i use mild steel solid bar stock, works so nice and is really easy to finish off.
