The official contest rules for SMOY state that the cars had to be parked in the Pro's Pick Friday and Saturday. The car in question went over there and parked in the Pro's Pick after the Autocross Friday and was parked in the PP again today. It also made it's required three laps in the Autocross so it fits eligibility just like the others.

I just found out today about the technical difficulties with the car's transmission and with a 12-page thread on this board about that particular car I thought it would relevant to post why it was so slow in the Autocross.

That's about it.
Whats funny about your quote John is that other participants had technical problems and were told by Goodguys staff that if they were not in the Pros pick area by 10:30am on Saturday, they would be disqualified. Had we known that we could have hung out in our booth all day till 2pm we would have done that since having cars in your booth draws attention. I am pretty sure the other vendors would have liked that too.

Look, I don't need this to turn into a "boohoo, Fesler is a sore loser" post. I dig Troy's car alot, he is an awsome builder and we will never have anything negative to say about him. I just think the rules should be the same for everyone (or at least conveyed the same to everyone).

theres no whining in hot rodding........ the end
2 posts ever and both whining........
the big builders would let each other have more time, the experienced guys know what it takes and how hard it is to do these shows, just like at the drags, lose a cylinder, go next door and get one to get back racing.....

Default Fixed you be the judge.........

No whining is correct and Carrie is not whining (if you knew her you would understand) the problem we have is that we blew a bag 40 min before we had to be in the pro pick on Friday (deadline was 10am) or we were out per Goodguys rules, we were not told we had till 3pm to fix our car we were told if it was not in the area on time we could not show...... We luckily made it over there with about 10 min to spare and troys car was no where to be found it was at the back of the grounds being worked on.

At noon sharp they moved all of us minus troy over to the track to sit and wait out our times to race. We sat there from noon till 3:30 PM running (which once again was required) and troy's car was no were to be seen untill 3pm. I wish we had more time to work on suspension so we could have done better.

At which point he ran the coarse and did make it through and right after they let him take the car right back to work on it. He showed up over at PP later after all of us where there. I feel for the guy and he build top notch stuff but Goodguys makes rules for a reason. I myself along with most of the builders I am sure would of had no problem giving them more time but were never asked. If I have to be there so do they but I guess Goodguys makes the rules as they go.

There were a lot of killer cars there and the competition was great, we are not sore losers just following the rules. Regardless of what anyone on this site thinks the Blazer can run with any car out there and I think we proved that on the coarse. We drive it and we drive it hard not sandbagging it around the road coarse. We did get 7th with the blazer 1st time on the track.

If you guys would like to call it whining so be it but rules are rules and I think Goodguys really dropped the ball here.

If you had a chance to walk the show and look at all the cars I think most of you would agree that the Blazer and 69 Camaro we brought out were with all the top cars and we won nothing at the show.

Bottom line is everyone else followed the rules and Troy was given special treatment by Goodguys. Troy, Ring and all the others had bitchen cars at the show and our hats go off to Ring for the win and whats done is done.

We will not have the cars in the PP area so If you would like to see them come by our booth they will both be on display there.

Obviously you did not get a chance to check the fit and finish on the final cars very well if you think they were the best. I dont have a problem being beat that is not the case at all, but there were 5 cars outside with better fit and finish by far...... I do have a problem being beat by a car with bad body work and paint when we spend so much time on making that perfect.

Not Bitter, we have been doing the Goodguys for 10 years and have been a sponsor for 3 years now. We know how it goes and just get tired of the same old sh%t at every show.

I was glad to get the opportunity to look over the top 5 yesterday after reading Chris Fesler's post on Saturday night. With any judged event there is going to be some second guessing. I have to say that though I did see the things I think he was talking about, it would have been pretty boring to have this lineup.

black Camaro
black Camaro
black Camaro
gray Camaro
gray Nova-maro

I can imagine the cursing that happened when the trunk on the Time Machines Camaro got crunched. Anybody else see that it looked like someone closed it on top of something?
