We are doing some in the next few days. We will be welding a tiny rod on the edge to give it strength and a nice rounded edge.

I will share some pics.

all the work was done on the cab to match the doors!! (make sure weather strips are temporarily in place--really changes the door profile on these trucks)
that is why i pulled in the windshield posts -- the are 1/4 inch out on these trucks from factory --when u shave drips , the door flushes on top of frame and back edge but stills hides behind windshield post!! looks like crap to me--stared at it a week before deciding to cut--really easy on these trucks--still time consuming-- Frank is right about the small rod--does give nice look and strength!!! jim

Craig let me add 1 thing- the doors were fitted and after hours of jam alignment and i was satisfied then began the drip removal!! the cab is still not a dead match to the door frames top and back but then the massaging comes in with lots more hours--i will send more pics in a few weeks when i reinstall doors and u can judge for yourself if it was worth it!!! look at the stock 68 pic from front and u can see how much door sits tucked in behind windshield post!! jim

I have done the driver's side on my Pontiac Ventura. The shop got too cluttered and back home the project went. The only problem with the drip rail on a nova or such is all the stupid trim on the back window that will bug you if you keep looking at it. Otherwise it looks really cool. After I find time to get the resulting rust off the bare metal, I'll post pics.

It really isnt that bad.. Just need to give some extra attention to your welds..Keep the small and strong. I cut a small grove in my body to make it look like there is a drip rail there in the side profile. It really looked a bit odd just smooth..Here are a couple of pics.. I am running a flush mount glass that I developed which makes the absent drip rails look nice.
