Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

I'm in the midst of prep work on the block for some color @ home so I can get the bbc back into my DD/tow pig. I use a similar prep approach (simple green & acetone) but use typical 'home' materials to wipe away dirt & oil residue. This typically means recycled shop rags or those 'blue' shop paper-towels.

My issue is the 'lint-free' p-towels leave behind way more material than desired if any cleaning chems are used & the shop towels (clean as they look) still typically have an oily residue not good for helping paint products adhere.

What would you guys recommend for the driveway builds?

After you get it clean with the blue shop towels, blow any lint off with compresses air, and then tac rag it.

Default JCG Nameplate

One of my machine shops called me today to come & proof the first piece off the machine.. We are good to go.. I will even be putting a set on my Snap On tool box & shop truck..

Also got the the fender washers proofed.. Got a small production lot in the works.. Then I will send out a few to get anodized in different colors..
