Good catch on the bent rails. Many of the cars out there have been butchered in the 42 years they've been around.

The RS looks really nice. Good luck on the build.

Default Nice starter (from the other end of the Bay)

Nice car to start with. Have fun putting it together. My son and I are having a blast putting DETONATOR together. There are a few nice twisty roads in the north Bay, I can't wait to tear up the hills here in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

There are a couple of Camaro clubs here locally. Camaro's Limited, based out of San Jose and Camaro Generations out of the Central Valley/Sacramento.

Good to have another enthusiast locally.

Welcome from Napa Valley!
Yeah good catch one the frame rails. I bought mine from a guy in San Mateo who had build records going back more than 15 years and swore there was no damage that he knew of. I checked thoroughly but until it came back from the blaster could I see that my rails were bent and the damage was covered up with undercoating. Oh well, replaced them when replacing the trunk pan and minitubbing.
Good luck with the build. Looks like a good foundation to start with.

This SS was super clean and looked like it came off the assembly line. It was to clean. I knew there was a skeleton in her closet so I just looked and ever nut bolt and screw. The trunk floor had a crinkle in it so I looked under the car and right above the rear end you could see the bent frame. It was a bad accident. Over the phone the seller would budge $100 more dollars. He was willing to drop a couple G's when he realized I was leaving with my money. I told him the car was tainted to me like a salvaged title car. I couldn't own it.

Hope once you get into it - it's as good as it looks. Sadly they usually aren't. Let's hope this one is!
I wanted to build a bad ass 69 camaro but just had no time and though I would save time and some money if I bought a clean camaro with newer paint so I wouldn't have to do that part of the restoration....for now.
I plan to keep only the shell and interior. The car will look the same when done but ride and handle like a super car....I hope.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody. There's a lot of locals here to which is great!
I need to post my drive train ASAP like tonight. I wont pull it until I get a deposit from someone. I will give Concord Safety Center a call in the morning. The owner there aligned my car about 2 months ago and said he would be interested in it. I just assumed he wanted it for nothing since he owned a shop.
The faster I pull the motor, the quicker I can get started. I would like to see it dont by spring.

Dont want to mess with the body yet even though there are some things I do want to do to it. All frame and drive train right now.
