The rating from GM is with all the accesories attached, like alternator, water pump, PS pump and AC. Also with airfilter.

Anyway the numbers are impressive.

What kind of tuning did you do Steve?

LSX engines are notorious for dynoing higher than their rated HP. There are several F-body guys around my town who have had their stock camaro's dyno'd and they are pulling 20 to 30 hp more at the rear wheels than GM's rating

You sure? After all they sell the LS2 without accesories and rate it at 400hp.. I am pretty sure engines are rated at crank horsepower..

Anyways, the accesories eat up very little hp in a modern car.

Just a basic tune to get it running. got the AF right and put the hammer down. The Superflow dyno uses a FAST ECU.

I will have to say 545hp at the crank. Pretty sure it will. I say who ever comes closest gets to go with PHR to the 2006 SEMA all expenses paid. On Steve. Either that or a big block out of Penny.

Total mods:

AFR 205 heads (larger valves, double springs, Ti retainers)
FAST 90mm intake
COMP 230/232 114+12 cam
21st Century Street Machine stepped race headers (already on engine)

That's it..

Steve-
Any general ballpark guesstimate on the total MSRP for the exact engine package you'll have together there?

Default I guess...

560 with Jason. I have seen LS1's (346 ci) with about the same stuff make 450 rwhp and you loose about 85 to 95 hp through the drivetrain...more with fat rear tires and a 9 inch ford. Does not your car have a Dana 60?

560-565 on the motor and 455 at the wheels.

Is that right on your cam 114 +12? 12 degrees advanced? I would have guessed 114 +2. Mine is ground on a 110 straight up and installed 2 advanced.

Steve I was refering to the engines in cars, like the under rated Camaros. GM couldn't let the Corvette buyers have the same amount as the Camaro.

Here in Sweden it was even funnier, The Camaro's HP rating for the authorities was RWHP. For those who doesn't know that, they think the Camaro is a weak car, yeah right

Your results are interesting, my LS1 will get about the same modifications, i.e. long tube headers and better airfilter. 400 wouldn't be far fetched I beleive.
