The shocks either have another ring that locks against the coilover ring, or it has a set screw. I can't remember which. Maybe it is both. Either way I think it is pretty safe to assume that if it is coming from DSE you won't have an issue.

As Matt said its a locking ring under the coil adjuster ring, nothing more than a jam nut. Just instaled four of them, you wont have problems great quality.

On the DSE/JRI Coilovers I have there is a set screw in the adjuster ring. My shocks have the non adjustible valving. Just finished Speed Kit 2 and Quadralink install.
