I'm working with my AMD rep here in town cuz my door skins don't fit over my frames with out persuasion .... Not sure where this will lead.
What shape are your quarters in the door jamb area? If I had it to do all over again, I would not have removed the door jamb area, even with NOS quarters. I have been over this car measuring all over the place. All measurements and visuals show my quarters are dead on. From looking at pictures at other car's, the rockers seem a bit different than mine. It appears, from looking at pictures, my factory installed rockers are shaped slightly different than most. I can't get my fenders to align to the rockers and doors at the same time. I can only get one or the other

Have you already removed the original door skins without aligning the fenders to the original doors? If you already have, you may have opened Pandora's Box

I did the GM fenders (w/shims) before I tore the car apart. The door skins are not tall enough to fit w/ some slack like OEM.

I do not plan on removing the quarters ... the jamb area is great, it 's the areas up high (behind the sail panel) w rust and of course the lower trunk drop off area.

Good luck with aligning ... sorry I can't help!

That has been a problem with repop door skins for a while. Some have enough room to move the skin around, but then some don't. AMD seems to be a good company to work with, so I'm somewhat confident they will get it worked out for you.

Man I wish I could get some help on this front cap. I haven't even touched it lately. I moved on to cleaning up the cowl and welding on my dash top. My dash top was the first panel I removed from my car and was the last I replaced. I removed the dash completely from the car the other day because I think someone put a gallon of paint just on the dash. I wasn't interesting in spending a day or two just stripping paint from it. I'm going to sandblast it this week and get it welded back in.

Luck, it seems, is the only thing I'm gonna be able to have to get this cap lined up to my liking.

Too bad you and I don't live closer to one another. We could, together, have our cars moving at a tortoise pace rather than the snails pace we've been moving at.

^ That was funny, sorta sad how true it is for those of us counting down by the decade... but still funny.
