Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

Randy Johnson's car made I think he said over 900hp at the wheels and it worked really well at Motorstate. If its anything like my experience with new engines, 2 weeks in you'll wondering what you can do to make it faster.
Yeah nothing like seeing your being pulled to 7500 right before your eyes. Well this cam is pretty small and I really was never planning to rev it past 7000, but I guess 7200-7300 is in order now.

Handful is right.... I can always throw a cam/rocker/carb change in it and hit 900. Like I need that.

200 will be indeed interesting... I will probably get some Rivals since they carry my sizes for RTTC... but will start out with my Hoosier scrubs. A6.

Hey Dave ! Congrats on getting her done ... dyno'd ... and making big power.

When you come off your high ... later this year ... I have questions.
a. Do you know why the dyno sheet shows two fuel lb/hr columns (A & B)
b. The BSFC #s are utilizing Fuel B Lb/Hr ... ask him if these #'s are accurate?
c. Did you guys run any EGT or O2 sensors? If yes, can you post those sheets?
d. Did you guys do any carb tuning?
e. If yes, did you tune any air bleeds?

I can tell you guys ran her "safe" by the BSFC #s. You remember when I said mine was "developed"?

I think your baby has another 25-30 hp in her up top ... but you'll never need it anyway.

Congrats !!!

Thanks Ron!

a. I forgot what Mike said on this, but Rob reminded me, that A & B are primary and secondary fuel flow readings... he knows where he wants them and said these #'s were right there

b. I will have to ask him this... how can you tell they are using Fuel B?

c. No EGT and no O2. I will have O2 bungs welded into my collectors for in car gauge

d. Nope. He liked it where it was he said.

e. No, he just played with the ide mixture screws (they were bottomed out as delivered I guess)

As you can tell, Mike doesn't like to spend a lot of time tuning on the dyno. His philosophy is to get it running safe, make sure no leaks/issues, and pull it off and do the tuning in the car.

Yep, he tunes on BSFC and said he knows what he is looking for. He liked it a little rich here.

He said there is more power in it also. He also said I could take it somewhere else in the Bay Area (Top of the Hill, Panella, etc) and it would hit 830+ hp. He said Pro Stock motors are 100 hp down on his dyno and mine is prolly 40-50 down. I don't really care. (Ok yes I do - I wish it hit 800 ) But you get the point.

And you nailed it... this is as much power as I need... for now.

What's your rear gear ratio again?
Yes sir... 800 woulda been nice but it's all good.

Rear gear is 3.64 to start.

Oh yeah can't wait to hear that motor rev up in the car.
It's going to sound so good bouncing off the rev limiter.

Pretty amazing numbers Dave

I'm going to play "Mother" now, is your roll cage and safety equipment equal to what you're creating?

You're not in the pro-tinkering or pro-touring class anymore.

Additional Gussets and X-bracing?

Hopefully we keep it under 7400 this time. Unless you are working that corner I might raise it just for you Bob.

Fair question and I've been planning for safety upgrades since last year. I already have a fairly complete stout cage. The only thing needed to really "complete" is an under dash bar and then tying in the front down bars to that. I am working with Brett on a plan to try to do that. It's not for certain but I'd like to.

6 nozzle Fire suppression already purchased last year.
6 point camlock harnesses purchased recently.
Sparco suit, gloves, boots
CarbonX long sleeve shirt and underwear
Nomex socks and head sock
HJC helmet

Might do some A pillar gussets too. I'd like to.

I don't think his motor is as capable of inducing the caliber of cartwheels your's could.

Both of you have probably exceeded the performance levels of '68-'70 era Trans Am cars and you're exceeding the current Vintage Trans Am car performance level..........I'd be looking at the level cages the vintage boys are running and see what you can realistically adapt to BMF V.2.

I am completely in support of what you are doing and don't want to sour the hype of this moment in any way as the car is over the top impressive to me.......but you've somewhat built the perfect storm with the new grip and horsepower levels...........your safety is more important to me than the car.

Sincerely,
Momma Sieg
