Our roads are brutal here so I'm a little concerned with 18". I found these wheels on sale and I'm ready to order but I want to make sure. I want the wheels to tuck nicely and tires need to fill the wheel wells.

R- 17x8. 5.5" BS. 255/40

OR

F-18x8. 4.5" BS
R- 18x9.5 5.5" BS

Can some please tell me this is correct?

I would consider 18" if there's a benefit.

thank you
18 allows you to have bigger brakes, and theres a larger selection race tire available, bad side is that the 18" tires cost more

17 limits the big brake kits, tires are cheaper

I changed the front tire size on the 17's

I have same kind problem. 67 Camaro drum brakes all around. I want put Hotchkis TVS 2" drop front and 1,5" drop rear and Baer track 4 13" disc front and SS4 12" disc rear.
I´m thinking 18x8 4,75bs rear wheel. How much space I should live to rear outside fender and inside ? On rear side wheel opening it´s very narrow only 11 3/4" and I can´t fit 5,25bs wheel. 255/45 with 18x8 4,25 bs leaves about 1/2"-3/4" gap, so is that enough ? How much hotchkis tvs system allow rear side movements ?
I can´t make measurement with this parts because those are just coming.
And front I´m thinking 17x7 or 8 4,25-4,50 bs, what is suitable and also tire size? I want to keep good balance of car and also outside look as well.
