What are you talking about? These are cast "spin forged" wheels. They offer them in set offsets with a few options and he already stated what the front offsets were.

I understand what you are saying when it comes to custom 3pc wheels but that does not apply here. Plus I wouldn't just order some random offsets. I would measure and setup for what I need and want. The look and setup I want may be different and we all have different setups as far as brakes, suspension, rearend widths and front subframe and spindle setups. I really don't know why you felt the need to speak for Mark. I'm sure he can speak for himself and if that is truly the way he feels in this particular case then I respect him for that.

I do agree with you on the part that everyone should measure for their wheel setup and not just go by something they read on a forum.

Cool. So like I said earlier....these are cast wheels with 4-5 predetermined offsets and he stated what the front was. And also like I said earlier I would not expect or ask someone for the offsets they came up with on their set of custom forged or 3pc wheels. First of all because they would do me no good and 2nd because that person has gone through a good deal of work to come up with it. At the same time I don't get why people want to keep things like offsets or spacer setups a secret. I somewhat understand on full on custom modifications done to a car that someone came up with all on their own. But still in the end in this car enthusiast community we should try to help each other out where we can. Also people should not flat out copy original ideas someone else has come up with.

In the end wheel offsets and backspacing is not some black magic or voodoo. It does take some time and measuring and a little know how. Now the other stuff that Mark does with his cars is some sort of black magic. The ideas he comes up with and executes are just flat out amazing. And I can also understand what he is saying about a simple question snowballing or even worse when people ask a question about something and then when given the answer they are clueless as to what you are talking about because they have done zero research or have not even tried to educate themselves on the basics. But these are the things someone like himself is going to have to deal with unfortunately. Gotta take the good with the bad and when you are basically considered the godfather of pro touring it's inevitable.

Didn't think I was going to have to write a novel or that my post was going to turn into this. In the end like I said I can understand what you were saying to a point. All I was saying was that it didn't apply here and that you could have spent your time better elsewhere with that post or just left out about 90% of the post and still made the same point without coming off the way you did.

Actually 36 Millimeters = 1.41732283 Inches, the 0 offset on a 12" wide wheel is 6.50in and 1.41732283 is 7.91732283

You scared me a bit cause I don't usually spread FUD unless its well deserved.

0 offset is zero offset from center so that would be what ever measurement half the width of the wheel. The offset was 36mm (positive) so you add that to the center measurement of the wheel.

How did I come up with it? I just punched the numbers in the little boxes and it spits out the backspace inch equivalency. Its aliens.

My wheels are 18 X 10 with 20 mm offset front and 18 X12 with 36 mm offset rear. Forgestar will build custom offsets if they fit within their blanks. I have NO idea if they will fit your car......

Mine were custom made and the lead time was 8 weeks. FYI
