My kids (boys, although my daughter played one season) played for years and we were Sharks season ticket holders for a while, so yeah, I knew about Howe, and his greatness. R.I.P., he was a great one.

Skipper, you'll like this one, his greatest quote imo was "People always asked me why I always wore a cup but never a helmet, 'Cause you can always get someone to do you thinking for you'"......

Mike, that is hilarious.

A former teammate of mine played against Howe in '79-'80. When I got to see Howe play in person I called him 'the old man'...from a safe distance.



Here he is 'breaking in' an 11 year old Wayne Gretzky.
