twitter is lit up here in Canada ...although he lived the majority of his life in the states he was Canadian thru and thru, if he didn't beat you on the scoreboard than he'd beat you with his fists. He will be certainly missed by everyone who's life he touched RIP Mr Hockey.

My kids (boys, although my daughter played one season) played for years and we were Sharks season ticket holders for a while, so yeah, I knew about Howe, and his greatness. R.I.P., he was a great one.

Skipper, you'll like this one, his greatest quote imo was "People always asked me why I always wore a cup but never a helmet, 'Cause you can always get someone to do you thinking for you'"......

Mike, that is hilarious.

A former teammate of mine played against Howe in '79-'80. When I got to see Howe play in person I called him 'the old man'...from a safe distance.
