Sorry.......Helical!!!!!! Meaning not straight cut gears. Dont know the angle, but both D&D Performance and Rockland STD gear use 22 deg, on their T56 set up, to keep them a little quieter, and maintain strenght.

What is helicon gears? Never heard of them.

John
Its spelled Helical. Straight cut gears actually force the gear together, the engagement is by dog ring and not synchro. Most typical older trans are helical with a spur cut for reverse (hense the "whining" when going backwards in reverse) Straight cut have more directional application of force allowing for less power loss. If you ever heard an F1 indy car going down the track your typically hearing the trans whine, not engine. Straight cut gears will whine loader the faster they go.

Default just a thought

You know I am building a 68 charger also, and think it would be really cool to have a seq box in my but, I honestly don,t think you will take it on the street.

I crewcheif for my freinds viper comp coupe, and we just dedcided to put a seq in his car. Bas ass!! In a race car, on a street car, awwww I don't know.

Just an idea, get the new t56, and take a look at MASTERSHIFT.COM it is a servo that mounts to the shifter mechanism. it comes with either a floor shifter, or paddle shifters, and an led gear idicator.

when you go to shift the trans, you jsut push down on the clutch, and hit a paddle, of push the gear shifter forward. Might want to take a look, just a thought.

Wait, the Quaife is built in England? How do you keep oil inside the thing?

Shiny Side Up!
