Greg I'm using the filter with the fuel shut off and I have a check valve to use at the other end unless I find out it not a good idea.

Default Need Some Help

Hi; Here are the parts I'm trying to mount on a plate attached to the fuel tank straps. The straps are Stainless steel and are holding and original type tank. I'm going to attach the plate with button head bolts with lock nuts. I'm having trouble fitting the regulator because of the location of the return. We were thinking of a fitting going directly from the bottom of the regulator into th bung on the tank. But I'm thinking it might cause problems because of the vibration. It would be secured to the plate but the plate is not held fast to the tank only the straps.
Here is what I want to mount in front of the tank.

The fuel from the tank will come from the back around the passenger side to the filter with the shut off then to the pump. From the pump I'm thinking of using a 180 degree fitting with Teflon hose going to the next filter. Jody suggested the Reg next but with where my return is located I don't know how I'll get it in that way. In the picture above the regulator is sitting right where the bung for the return is on the tank.
Here's a picture of the front of the tank.

The paper you can see on both side are where the straps are.
Here is the return

Does anyone know the radieus or center to center on a 10 AN 180 degree hose end ?

Thanks

My initial thoughts are -- you're dealing with parts that are too close together to make good plumbing bends etc. and I'm talking about how PARALLEL they are.. not the end to end stuff...

You've got to come out the Weldon pump -- and get over to the outlet side filter -- and dude! That's tight right there... You can do it with hard line -- but a 1/2" (AN -8) bender radius is 1 1/2" .... so you have to have space (length) to bend the tube - get a tube nut on and sleeve on - and then flare it.... and get that tight radius bent and then down over to the inlet of the filter before the regulator.

If it was me - I'd put all that IN LINE and keep that part super simple.

Better send that to Mark at BentFab!

Since we've been emailing -- I think your new plan is far superior in every way....

Just keep plugging away - one thing at a time... and look at all of these "things" as FUN issues that just have to be solved... they're not obstacles - they're just stuff hanging around waiting for a smart guy like you to come along to solve.

Some guys pass all the 'hard stuff' and do a whole bunch of easy -- but then eventually you end up with all these hard things to do...and that's no fun. It's better to just tackle it - don't do anything until you have a solution that you LIKE and is doable -- but ya keep thinking and asking and eventually a light goes on and bingo it's easy! <well.... sometimes!>
